Jon Rockeman, 54, a computer information systems entrepreneur and long time resident of San Diego, CA, died on December 3, 2014. Jon is survived by his parents; his wife, Ann (nee' Grant); his children, Ava Grace and Olivia Ann Rockeman; and his sister, Michelle Cavanagh. Jon was born on May 23, 1960 in Chico, CA. He graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Computer Information Systems and worked in the Computer Software Industry for 30 years. On May 16, 1992, he married Ann Grant. In 1994 and 1997, he welcomed his daughters, Ava and Oliva, who were the most important part of his life. Jon was an avid outdoorsman; finding joy in the mountains of Lake Tahoe since childhood and introducing this love to his family. He traveled the world, climbing the mountains of Lake Shasta to Kilimanjaro. Jon was a problem solver, using the skills of an avid outdoorsman to fix anything from electronics to plumbing. Jon survived and overcame the obstacles of two brain tumor diagnoses; finding purpose in volunteering with the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on January 2, at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club in Solana Beach. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the 'Jon Rockeman Memorial Fund' via

Jon took me in as a friend in 7th grade at IVI.  He and his sis Michelle "Shelly" were raised by their amazing single mom Nancy.  Jon was resourceful and fun.  The time we spent together in high school mad all the difference on my end.  Jon set an example for living a happy life. Nothing held him back.  We last spoke in 2010. It was a wonderful conversation - one I'll treasure to the end.
