Resident of Alamo, CA.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Alden Lofquist at 1:00 p.m. on March 22, 2014 at Community Presbyterian Church, 222 W. El Pintado, Danville, CA. For further details, see www.rememberingalden.com.

I knew Lofty since 5th grade.  He was one of my besties most interested in nature and science.  We crossed paths in our adult years post 911 in Washington D.C.  Lofty was a brilliant scientist who contributed to the advancement and protection of our country serving behind the scenes, but not unnoticed.  His humor came across in code.  If you got it, he got you.  Nuff said! I miss him.

Lofty (as I knew him, since first grade at Del Rey Elementary School) and I became reunited in Alamo, California, when we found out through our children we were next door neighbors!  In fact we attended the last high school renion together.  I knew him well as a child, but better as an adult.       He was a gentle, loving father of two wonderful children.  We spent many evenings together at each other's home.  Our children went to school together, and we switched off babysitting.  My husband remodled/built his home in Alamo.       Always presenting a positive outlook, he could make you laugh when you felt like crying.  He was a kind, spiritual  person, taken too soon.  It seems as though I just  found out he was ill and then he was gone.  I miss him more than words can express.  God bless him and his family.
