A great friend to many and a woman of superior character and integrity, passed away on December 20, 2000 at the age of 41. Barbara was born in San Francisco on September 7, 1959. She was a cystic fibrosis patient and received a bi-lateral lung transplant in 1997, which allowed her the freedom to travel and work part time for the Foundation as a Special Events Coordinator. Her true love and inspiration was found in creating mixed media art and her love for travel and meeting people. The friends and family whose lives she touched will miss her zest for life, ability to make us laugh and determination to live everyday to its fullest. She is survived by her animals – Hershel – pot-bellied pig, Lenny – mix-bred puppy, Russell Meers – Fiancé, Roger Carpenter – father and David Carpenter – brother. A celebration memorial will be held on January 6, 2001 at 1:00 p.m., at the Christian Community Church, 155 Moraga Road, Moraga, CA.
